Testimonials

Vince has been a tremendous help throughout my startup journey. Knowing I’d face significant challenges in navigating the murky waters of the early startup days, Vince has been able to provide guidance and expert advice to help resolve the entire array of challenges ranging from co-founding partner negotiations, product choice decisions, deciphering marketing/customer messages, and investor communications. More than that, with his great sense of empathy, humility, and wisdom, he has helped me overcome all the inter-related emotional swings in pursuit of my dreams, thus helping me grow professionally and personally as someone trying to make meaningful impactful change in the world.
— Client: Former Consultant and Current Founder
If you’re going to cut it in early stage companies, you need to get used to quickly identifying what skills you don’t have and developing them with haste. Vince didn’t pull punches, he’d tell you what you needed to work on and expect you to get better, fast. He instilled a mindset of continuous learning and never being intimidated by what you don’t know. It was one of the most valuable lessons I learned.
— Lex Kiefhaber, Founder & CEO United By Zero
Vince has been an extraordinarily helpful mentor and sounding board throughout my journey in entrepreneurship. His feedback and support have been invaluable as I’ve worked over the years to navigate the challenges of starting and building businesses. In particular, his wisdom around how to jumpstart a project, and later re-calibrate against one’s initial hypotheses, has helped me better manage the roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship and improve as a leader. I can’t recommend Vince’s advice and mentorship highly enough!
— Client: Hospitality Industry
Vince was my career advisor at Columbia, he helped me decide on key career decisions that led me to building my dream business that’s now a very profitable multimillion dollar startup!

about ME

The first ten years of my career found me working soul crushing jobs at large financial services companies. Ten years later, I was leading the entrepreneurship program at Columbia Business School, where I coached and advised hundreds of students and alumni every year on making the leap (or not making the leap) into the world of startups. In between, I held positions at five different startups, made some mistakes and watched others make a few mistakes too. I also did a few things right.

Today, I am on the Startups team at Amazon Web Services, where I continue to have a front row seat to the challenges, opportunities, pros and cons of startup life as I coach and advise founders from the country’s top tier universities.

The transition from financial services to startups was not easy, but with self awareness, patience, and a roadmap, it can be done. I am here to help if you’d like, either for one session or many. Reach out below to schedule a free introductory call/session.

Working Together

Making a career change of any kind is always a big decision. Deciding to work for a startup is an even bigger one. Starting your own business is in a league of its own.

Regardless of what path you choose, there are many personal and professional considerations to take in to account. I’ll help you identify them, work through them, and set you up for success.

I’ve coached hundreds of founders on launching and growing their startups. I’ve coached hundreds of Columbia Business School students, alumni and a variety of other aspiring startup employees on whether or not working at a startup was the right career move for them. Some moved from corporate jobs into startups. Some decided to stay put. Some decided to take a middle step and find an entrepreneurial role at their existing company or a similar one. Whatever your goals and path, I will bring my experience to our partnership to help you succeed in the short and long run.

Reach out via LinkedIn with a bit about yourself and your coaching needs/goals. I’ll schedule a 30 minute zoom meeting for us to meet, discuss your goals and my coaching style/philosophy to see if we are a good fit for each other.
